melodies, memories

"melodies, memories” is a piece that recalls the memories of old. I wrote it in the Spring of 2021, before any normalcy surfaced since the Covid-19 pandemic. As I reflected on memories of the past, I questioned if things would ever return to the way they were, or if the days of old were doomed to be forgotten. These two ideas of nostalgia, and the question of the present and future eventually overlap: the memories have helped shape the present melodies. Although the future I imagined may look different from before, it still reflects the world we knew before.
