Music of the Soul

Life is full of stories. When you think of your story, how would you tell it? What would you include? What would you leave out?

 

To me, one’s life story consists of major life events, seemingly monotonous activities, and the stories of others which impact us. These help to shape who we are, what we value, and how we understand the world.

Sometimes, the moments that change the trajectory of your life play out before you have time to snapshot those moments. Music, in a special way, paints scenes, where words alone fail to convey them. I seek to capture these stories through my artistry. 

​

My music is not constrained to any specific genre, nor style, just as life is not constrained to any one set of events. Varying inspirations influence my music. Perhaps one set will have elements from pop songs, perhaps another will be classically focused, and another will incorporate jazz components. Generally, my music resides with modal or tonal ideas, with a heavy focus on lyrical and melodic ideas. As an artist, I aim to share my life story through music. The style and genre of the songs will adapt as I relay the different stories that have molded me into who I am.

By becoming vulnerable and presenting the stories that matter to me, I hope that you can listen to relate and reflect upon your own memories, and, as a result, feel compelled to share your life experiences. I find that when we are able to resonate with the stories of another and bravely share our stories, we find a common humanity.
